How does a satellite dish work?

Availability

Do I have to meet any residential/demographic requirements to get DISH?
You will have to reside in a residence within the continental United States to get DISH from Sterling Satellite. We are currently unable to sign up new customers in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico; however, limited service is available in those areas directly through DISH or local authorized retailers.
Is DISH available in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, or Alaska?
Yes. However, you will have to contact DISH or a local authorized retailer in those areas to sign up. At this time, Sterling Satellite cannot process new accounts from these locations.
What happens to my DISH account if I move?
Your DISH service will move with you! You can take your service with you when you move by contacting DISH’s DishMOVER service. If you call 1-888-557-9569, you can arrange for installation of a new satellite dish at your new address. You will, however, be responsible for bringing your receivers and remotes with you when you move.
